Great Britain: Problems multiply for Daniel at Silverstone

A failed DRS and a slow first pit stop, allied with a lack of pace, saw Daniel spend most of the British GP outside of the points.

"I'm glad to hear the drivers are OK after that first lap incident, I'm happy to hear - especially Zhou (Guanyu) – that he's good.

"Our car didn't seem to work on grip like the others, I could feel it in the tyres. It was a bit strange, we'll have to look into it. Later we had problems with the DRS, I couldn't use it after lap 31 so we weren't quick.

“Obviously, it's tough to overtake with that as well – but simply we weren’t really quick enough anyway today. It was a bit of a lonely afternoon.

"I had zero pace today. To be honest, that was a little bit like Barcelona where I didn't seem to operate at the same level of grip as the cars around me, so a little bit confused by that. It's clear what I felt, but the reasons why ... not sure. Hopefully we find some answers because it's a quick turnaround to Austria."

* Advanced to 13th when Ocon/Alpine retired on lap 38 and pitted for soft tyres.
* Finished in 13th place after 52 laps, 32.817secs behind race-winner Sainz/Ferrari, 0.3secs behind Latifi/Williams in 12th and 8secs ahead of Tsunoda/AlphaTauri in 14th.
