The N�rburgring, known as simply "the Ring" by enthusiasts, is the name of a famous motorsport race track in N�rburg, Germany, built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of N�rburg in the Eifel. The new N�rburgring was completed in 1984 and called GP-Strecke. It was built to meet the highest safety standards, but was considered in character a mere shadow of its older sibling. Circuit length 5.148km (3.2 miles).
